WHAT YOU

KNOW:

Potholes, Perspectives, & Passions
on the Christian Journey

The late Mary Drislan Madden, who passed on July 11, 2024, answered God’s call “to write a book” in the final year of her life. She wrote of what she knew: potholes, perspectives, & passions…

“I don’t know much about just one subject matter, so I wrote on the many issues (potholes) that Christians deal with in their Journey with Him through my Perspective with His Passion.” Written in the first person, it’s as if she’s sitting next to you, “telling her story” through real-life experiences with humility and humor. It’s a great read!

She wrote, edited, and had this book published in the final year of her life. She did this in obedience to her Maker with limited eyesight and a failing body. She persevered until it was completed. She had yet “one wish” afterward: to hold her book in her hands. That wish was granted four days before her passing. Job well done, my love!

This book is HER LEGACY… to family, friends, and so many others that can learn from her lessons of WISDOM & TRUTH. There is much to learn from her experiences to help guide you on the narrow path in your walk with Him. As she wrote describing her book: “I promise… this will stir you up with truth, combined with real-life stories, experiences, and laughter. You will feel ALL of the feelings, and you will smile when you close the cover. It’s a cathartic read, for sure! I loved writing, erasing, and rewriting every word.”

Excerpts:

a) “Ladies…WAIT for the one God chose for you. Be patient. I promise it will be worth the wait! When I was in that “waiting place” in my life, it seemed like forever. I felt that I was missing out on so many things. But God was keeping me for my husband, safe and secure under His wings. Be content to press into Him.”

b) “Out went the books! We could be like Martha, running ourselves ragged, trying to figure it all out, or we could be like Mary, and learn at the feet of Jesus!”

c) “Out of all the people Jesus came into contact with, fellowshipped with, ate dinner with, celebrated with, ministered to, shared with, taught, walked with, prayed with. Out of all of these thousands of people, He only chose 12 to share the things that were important to Him.”
